Dear Parents

 

This year will be the tenth anniversary of the Djanogly Learning Trust. To celebrate this special birthday, we will be holding a party on Thursday 15^th July. Class teachers have spoken to their classes about what they would like to spend the allocate budget on. We have collated the ideas and planned a very special day for the children including an ice cream van, bubble disco, bouncy castles and lots of birthday cake.

 

We would like the children to come dressed in sporty clothes for the whole of their day/session. Children will need to wear either trainers or plimsolls and should wear either leggings, shorts, track suit bottoms or trousers with a t-shirt or top. The weather forecast at the moment is to be sunny so please put sun cream on your child and get them to bring along a sun hat and a drink of water. If the weather forecast changes between now and then, please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat.

As you are aware we do have high staff absences at the moment and are struggling to secure staff, however, we are trying our best to ensure that your child’s day runs as smoothly as possible and that they have the best possible opportunities. We are really looking forward to this afternoon celebration and will do all that we can to ensure the children have a fun time!

 

In terms of staffing moving forward, due to increased staff absences, we are using a range of supply agencies. However, demand for staff is high at the moment and agencies are finding it increasingly challenging to secure high quality staff. We have been fortunate to be able to secure Mrs Cook to teach until the end of term and we have just found out today that we have secured Mrs Graham too. The current plan is for Mrs Cook to teach in Nursery and Mrs Graham to teach in Reception. We will do our very best to ensure that your child has consistency of staffing however this may not always be possible in the current climate. Thank you for your continued support over this challenging time.

Our new reading initiative Red Ted- Read every day, talk every day, has been received well by our children. Thank you for supporting us in ensuring that all of our children read on a regular basis. It is fantastic to see so many Red Ted sheets being completed. Please be aware that the number of bears in school is limited at this time. More bears have been ordered but due to COVID-19, we are still waiting for the delivery. Be assured that as soon as the bears arrive at school, they will be distributed to their new owners! Apologies for this inconvenience.
